JACINTA LEONG, PRODUCTION DESIGNER

A film’s Production Design moves an audience visually through a story; Jacinta enjoys this process of collaboration and creativity.

She was 2021 AACTA Award-nominated as Production Designer on the feature film 2067; and recently enjoyed the outback experience working in Broken Hill on the feature Buckley’s Chance.

Art Director credits include Shang Chi, Alien: Covenant, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Unbroken, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Her Art Direction has won three ADG Awards (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, Mad Max: Fury Road), and four ADG nominations (Shang Chi, Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Unbroken, Hacksaw Ridge).

In the 90’s, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Queensland University of Technology, with the goal to design film sets. Her final year thesis titled Set Design for Film and Television earned a High Distinction. After graduating, she contacted Production Designer Henry Bumstead, asking for work experience on his next film. Her wish granted, she worked in Texas USA as intern on The Stars Fell on Henrietta.

Jacinta is a accredited as a Production Designer with the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts, and is accredited with the Australian Production Design Guild.
